Lily LA Catrina "Siempre en mi Corazon" catrina exhibit showcased at Olvera Street, Los Angeles, California October 6-8, 2023. Lily Martinez aka the LA Catrina is a professional fashion designer and illustrator. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in DTLA with a Fashion Design degree in 1997 and worked for Mattel designing dolls and clothes as a Designer, Manager and later the Creative Director for the Barbie brand. The exhibit was "a modern celebration of Mexican Catrina culture through the lens of a native Angeleno."

From the artist, "It means the world to me that you are here sharing this very special event and moment in my life. Our passed loves ones will forever be in our hearts (sic) 'till our last breath. I will always honor and celebrate them with my Catrina artisty. Thank you for you love & support!! Love & Light, Lily." 

The show is a culmination of the past nine years of Lily Martinez' Catrina costumes for Dia de los Muertos. She is showcasing 26 different catrinas in the show. She also hand painted the mannequins. This woman is so incredibly talented and detail oriented. The overall styling, dresses, headdresses, makeup and jewelry are all so perfect! You MUST see this in person!

Bunnyhenge in Newport Beach Civic Center, Newport Beach, California by Mary Cummins

Bunnyhenge is located in Newport Beach Civic Center Park in Newport Beach, California. It's public and free. Address is 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach CA 92660. There are quite a few really nice sculptures here. 

Bunnyhenge is 14 white bunnies about four feet tall plus two eight-foot bunnies that are paired up elsewhere on the grounds of Newport's new Civic Center. They were installed in 2013 at a cost of $220,000. They were created by the designers at PWP Landscape architecture. They get dressed up for various holidays.
