Santa Monica hosted a Día de Muertos event on the Third Street promenade October 18, 2025. They had Folklorico dancers, musicians, activities for kids, a Catrina contest, food, drinks, vendors and lots of photo op stations. Alebrijes sculptures by Ricardo Soltero. From the event page: The annual Día de los Muertos Celebration returns to Third Street Promenade! Attendees can enjoy live entertainment, a Latinx pop-up market by Molcajete Dominguero, community altars, kids’ crafts, face painting, and games for all ages. Guests can admire stunning La Catrina sculptures by artist Ricardo Soltero. The event features local talent, including Neiya Arts, Aztec Dancers, Santa Monica Ballet Folklorico, and more. Activities are available for all ages, including arts and crafts.

One of the dance groups was Delilah Vasquez https://www.facebook.com/delilah.real with Neiyah Arts. https://www.facebook.com/GrupoXhanat They were fantastic! Their choreography, music, costumes were like Folklorico meets Cirque du Soleil. I've seen a lot of folklorico and this was original and wonderful.

The first inaugural Los Angeles Dia de los Muertos parade around Los Angeles downtown City Hall across the street from the Gloria Molina Grand Park. Los Angeles City Dia de Muertos.
