Dia de Muertos at Gloria Molina Grand Park 2025 by Mary Cummins, Maria Rivera


Another great Dia de Muertos event at Gloria Molina Grand Park. Opening day was today October 25, 2025. There were lots of altars, ofrendas, food trucks, dancers, musicians, sugar skull painting, arts & crafts for kids and a lot more. Consuelo G. Flores, renowned Altarista was the lead artist on the main community altar.

Explore 19 unique altars created by professional artists and local organizations reflecting the diverse stories & cultures of Los Angeles. Community altar by leaving a framed photo, memento, or message in remembrance of someone special. Curated by renowned artist Consuelo G. Flores, this year’s theme is ‘Let Freedom Ring: Honoring Our Immigrant Ancestors.’ 

Opening Celebration: Grand Avenue Arts All Access: Gloria Molina Grand Park’s Downtown Día de los Muertos Opening Celebration. SAT. OCT 25, 11 AM – 4 PM

Noche de los Muertos: Noche de los Muertos: The Official Gloria Molina Grand Park’s Downtown Día de los Muertos Closing Celebration. SUN. NOV 2, 3 – 7 PM

Nine-day Exhibition: The park’s free, week-long outdoor exhibition of community ofrendas. OCT 25 – NOV 2, 8 AM – 9 PM

Dia dia los Muertos event at Gloria Molina Grand Avenue Park was October 19 to November 2, 2024. I attended the opening day events with music, dance, poetry readings and altar. Lots of beautiful altars, ofrendas made by talented altar artists. 

Dia de los Muertos at Gloria Molina Grand Avenue Park in Los Angeles, California. This year's theme was Finding Peace Through Memories and Hope for the Future. Over 19 altars were crafted by local artists and organizations, poetry was performed, music was played, films were screened and a parade made its way along Grand Avenue.
